The Tibetan Homes Foundation, established in 1962 under the guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, endeavors to provide a nurturing home, quality education, and a supportive environment for Tibetan refugee children and Himalayan destitute children. This initiative not only emphasizes contemporary education but also promotes the study of the Tibetan language and cultural heritage. Currently, the foundation operates four schools: The Tibetan Homes School Mussoorie, nestled within the picturesque Happy Valley of Mussoorie, and three additional branch schools located in Rajpur, Dekyiling, and Gorimafi. These institutions collectively serve approximately 1490 students. The foundation’s compassionate mission extends to the welfare of orphaned and impoverished Tibetan refugee children as well as Himalayan destitute children. It also aims to conserve the environment and promote environmental awareness through its environment clubs in its schools.
